Young Hearts, Big Impact: Texas Elementary Students Fund Clean Water in Laos!

Posted by Dawn Lewis

At TerraClear Foundation, we believe that every effort—no matter how small—can make a life-changing difference. This belief was beautifully demonstrated by two elementary schools in Texas: Hyde Park Elementary School and Northwest Hills UMC Preschool. Through their generosity and hard work, these young students raised an incredible total of $1,094.88 to support clean drinking water in Laos!

Small Hands Making a Big Difference

The students at Hyde Park Elementary School collected $536.08, while their peers at Northwest Hills UMC Preschool contributed $558.80. These funds will go directly toward providing ceramic water filters for families in rural Laos, ensuring they have safe and reliable access to clean drinking water.

For many families in Laos, access to clean water remains a daily challenge. Without proper filtration, they must rely on boiling water, which requires burning wood—a practice that contributes to deforestation and indoor air pollution. The ceramic filters provided by TerraClear Foundation offer a sustainable and cost-effective solution, reducing both environmental impact and health risks.

Inspiring the Next Generation

What makes this effort even more special is the heart behind it. These students didn’t just raise money; they learned about global water scarcity, the importance of safe drinking water, and how small actions can create meaningful change. Their compassion and willingness to help others set an inspiring example for us all.

A Ripple Effect of Change

With the funds raised by these young changemakers, families in Laos will receive access to clean, safe water—helping to prevent waterborne diseases, reduce household costs, and improve overall well-being. And who knows? Perhaps their generosity will inspire more schools, churches, and communities to join in this life-changing mission.

To the students, teachers, and families of Hyde Park Elementary and Northwest Hills UMC Preschool—thank you for showing that kindness and generosity have no age limit. Your efforts are making a real and lasting difference in the world!
